This Thanksgiving I hosted dinner. My four wonderful guests made the day really nice. This year I have a lot to be thankful for:
*a good job that shouldn't be affected by recent economic events
*amazing friends
*strong, functional family and an upcoming visit to see them
*signs that change--the good kind--is coming to our country

Where's the turkey on that plate?
My parents were visiting. I didn't order a turkey (as is necessary here, because turkey is not a Chinese staple) so we found a roast and threw that in the oven. Had a few expat friends over and we managed to make it a party.
My oven wasn't cooperating, so the turkey was still trying to roast. We decided the side dishes were more interesting anyway, so we dug in.
Glad to hear your parents spent Thanksgiving with you!
